California Scholarship Federation
OVERVIEW
OVERVIEW
OVERVIEW
California Scholarship Federation, or CSF, is an academic honor society that allows for high achieving student to highlight their academic as well as community service endeavors. Students who achieve lifetime membership (by meeting guidelines set forth by the governing body) by their senior year will be allowed to wear either a cord or a stole during graduation to display this accomplishment. All 10th, 11th, and 12th graders are eligible to apply for membership at the beginning of a semester. 9th graders may apply for auxiliary membership during the second semester. Monthly meetings are held on the second Tuesday of the month in the theatre.
What about 9th Graders?
Freshmen may join CSF after they have completed one semester of high school. They are considered junior or associate members under the constitution of the state CSF Board. Therefore, their first year in high school does not contribute to Gold Sealbearer status; once again, only their sophomore, junior and senior years count. However, students are encouraged to join and be recognized for their academic achievement. CSF membership will be published each semester on the SJHHS website and the CSF web site.
* Associate membership does not count towards four required semesters and at this time we do not have a CSF Club. Students are encouraged to join after their Fall semester of 10th grade.
Lifetime Membership (Sealbearer)
Life Membership / Sealbearer status is achieved by a graduating senior who has achieved membership during four of the last six semesters of high school, with one semester’s membership based on senior grades being obligatory.
Freshman and first semester sophomores are considered associate members only, which means it may not be counted towards Life Membership.
