THE SUBJECT REQUIREMENTS
The University of California and the California State University System maintain the same set of course requirements for entering freshmen. The list is comprised of 15 courses and is often referred to as the “A-G” list.
The intent of the "A-G" Subject Requirements is to ensure that students can participate fully in the first-year program at the University in a wide variety of fields of study. Fulfillment of the "A-G" pattern also demonstrates that the student has attained essential critical thinking and study skills.
On an annual basis, public and private California high schools update their A - G lists.
Students planning to apply to the University of California or California State University systems should be sure that the courses they take in high school to meet subject area (A-G) requirements for admission, are listed on the Aliso Niguel High School's certified A-G list.
